‘Bathrooms by You’ believe in designing for the individual and catering to their needs, requests and aspirations. With our experienced team; we aim to inspire you, our clients, with new and innovative ideas perhaps not originally thought of. During the initial consultation, we determine the purpose of use for the bathroom – some people see it as a relaxing haven to rejuvenate and loosen up from those every day stresses, whereas others may see the bathroom as a place purely to wash, energise and go. Moreover, the size of the your bathroom may not be being utilised as well as it could be, or there may be potential for more storage or space for that bidet you’ve always wanted!
The design of a bathroom is not necessarily just the lay out of the bathroom suite. Have you decided on a bathroom style yet? There are many types; contemporary, retro, traditional or even rustic bathroom suites available to choose from. So whichever style you feel suits you best, we are here with a helping hand every step of the way.
After the initial consultation, we present you with a range of suite and bathroom furniture ideas that are in accordance with your personal style of choice and budget. We can often source tiles at discounted rates and we can advise on the design to make the best of your personally crafted bathroom. Additional to our design and installation service, we are more than happy to fit our client’s own supply of fittings, appliances and tiles on a labour only basis if required. Nothing is finalised and the installation phase will not begin until our clients are 100% happy with their bathroom. With our expert help, we believe that ‘Bathrooms by You’ could make your bathroom dreams a reality.
Upon leaving school I undertook a Construction course at Bromley College which taught me skills in the following: Plastering, Bricklaying, Electrics, Carpentry and Plumbing. Plumbing & Heating was of great interest to me and soon after leaving college I managed to secure an apprenticeship with a bathroom company in which I began installing bathrooms. Two years into my apprenticeship I switched employer as I wanted to broaden my horizons to further develop my knowledge in heating and boilers. Upon completion of my apprenticeship in which I gained an NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Plumbing and Heating I joined a temping agency in London to gain more ‘on site’ experience, this included 1st and 2nd fixing, bathrooms, plumbing and heating throughout luxury apartments.
In 2002 I gained employment with a major gas company where I was responsible for running gas on the domestic and commercial front. During my employment I gained qualifications in the following:
CCN1 – Domestic Natural Gas Safety
Met 4 – Diaphragm Meter up to and including U40
C Met 1 – LP Diaphragm and RPD Meters
C Met 2 – HPRPD and Turbine Meters < 100 bar CODNESP1 – Changeover Dom-ESP Safety CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis CENWAT – C/H Boilers and Water Heating Appliances CKR1 – Gas Cookers HTR1 – Gas Fires & Heaters ICPN1 – Commercial Pipework >35mm
TPCP1 – Test & Purge – UP/1
Earthing & Bonding in accordance with BS7671
After completing my studies at sixth form, I decided to join the Army in the Royal Engineers Regiment. I learnt a lot from this experience – having completed a six month tour of Iraq and visiting many other countries where I worked with and met lots of different people.
Upon leaving the Army as Lance Corporal after 5 years of service; I had gained City & Guilds qualifications in tiling, painting, plastering, dry lining and spray painting. I left in order to pursue a career using the qualifications I had achieved and began a job fitting bathrooms and kitchens. I was able to perfect my skills further as I was using them daily at work.
After being made redundant; I became self-employed for a year, reverting back to my tiling and plastering skills. I then found work with a major gas company and started an apprenticeship based mainly around the installation and repairs of gas meters, pipes and boilers.
